Interested in Joining the BIAS Lab?
Note: Dr. Hodson is not presently seeking to recruit new MA or PhD students.
In this lab you can gain valuable research experience and learn how to publish academic papers in a supportive environment (see below).
Dr. Hodson publishes frequently with students (see Publications and People pages), and very much enjoys talking about methods, statistics, and research topics.
There are several ways to get involved:
- complete an Honours (BA) thesis
- complete a Masters (MA) or PhD thesis
- volunteer as a research assistant; gain experience collecting, coding, and analyzing data
- co-op educational experiences
- research apprenticeships & directed readings
COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTIVE SUPERVISION
Dr. Hodson considers it an honour and privilege to supervise undergraduate and graduate students. Moreover, he strongly believes that Graduate School Should Be Challenging, Not Traumatic.
Along with some like-minded professors at Brock he has signed an explicit pledge (i.e., commitment) to be supportive of and respectful toward graduate students. This commitment stands above the default stipulated by Brock's Rights and Responsibilities for graduate students.
If you think you might be interested in joining the lab, please first read several of our Publications. Research is extremely rewarding when it matches your interests.
Below you will find some pictures of Brock University, located in the beautiful Niagara region.
